The Saudi Red Crescent Authority was established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Royal Decree No. 1 dated 16/1/1383H. Its headquarters is located in Riyadh, and its activities cover all areas of the Kingdom. The authority's system is based on the Geneva Conventions and the principles recognized by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It was renamed the Saudi Red Crescent Authority by the Cabinet decision No. 371 dated 24/12/1429H.
