The Saudi Red Crescent Society was established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Royal Decree No. 1 on 16/1/1383 AH. It has a non-profit legal entity with an indefinite duration. Its main center is located in Riyadh city. Its activities cover all regions of the Kingdom and operate based on the Geneva Conventions and the principles approved by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent conferences. The society's name was later changed to the Saudi Red Crescent Authority as per the decision of the Council of Ministers No. 371 dated 24/12/1429 AH.
